An Interior Structural Fire Brigade Member is trained and qualified to enter structures and perform firefighting tasks in hazardous interior environments. This level exceeds Incipient and Advanced Exterior levels, requiring members to operate inside buildings where conditions may involve:

  • IDLH atmospheres (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health)
  • Active interior fire behavior
  • Low visibility and elevated heat
  • Complex rescue and suppression tasks

This role requires use of full structural firefighting PPE and Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).

Through hands-on scenarios, theory and practice, students will develop the ability to master an interior structural fire as a member of the Industrial Fire Brigade Team.

At the end of the course, participants are required to complete a written exam (min 70% pass requirement) and practical evaluation. Successful students will receive IFSAC certification issued by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.

*Minimum Enrollment Requirement

Please note that each course must meet a minimum number of participants to run. If the minimum isn’t met, the class will unfortunately have to be canceled. Because some courses require travel, we want you to be aware of this possibility in advance. We will notify you as early as possible if a cancellation is necessary.

Prerequisites must be emailed to seri@suncrestcollege.ca after purchasing this course. Once approved, you will be officially registered and granted access to the online portion of the course when registration closes and the minimum class size is met.
