NFPA 1081 – Industrial Fire Brigade Leader

ndustrial Fire Brigade Leader training is designed to give brigade members the knowledge and skills necessary to become brigade leaders. The course covers command structure and fireground organization, communications, and strategy and tactics. The Brigade Leader Level includes theory and practical components.

At the end of the course, participants are required to complete a written exam (min 70% pass requirement) and practical evaluation. Successful students will receive IFSAC certification issued by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency.

This role is ideal for:

  • Senior facility emergency response personnel
  • Shift supervisors or safety officers
  • Individuals responsible for fire brigade teams
  • Personnel who manage incident action planning and resource coordination

Please note that each course must meet a minimum number of participants to run. If the minimum isn’t met, the class will unfortunately have to be canceled. Because some courses require travel, we want you to be aware of this possibility in advance. We will notify you as early as possible if a cancellation is necessary.

Prerequisites must be emailed to seri@suncrestcollege.ca after purchasing this course. Once approved, you will be officially registered and granted access to the online portion of the course when registration closes and the minimum class size is met.
  • Current member of good standing in a Saskatchewan fire department or other eligible emergency service.
  • A level for which the person will be the Brigade Leader (Advanced Exterior and/or Interior Structural)
